Résumé
Un temps considérée comme en voie de disparition, la petite exploitation agricole regagne une légitimité par sa contribution à l’approvisionnement en produits frais via des circuits de proximité. Cette note tente de revisiter les approches conceptuelles et théoriques en positionnant la petite exploitation dans son histoire et son contexte. De nouvelles et récentes études typologiques témoignent de la grande diversité de cette forme sociale dans l’espace rural européen. L’attention portée aux réalités sociales du retour de la petite exploitation, à l’est de l’Europe, permet en décentrant le regard de faire place à d’autres éléments d’analyse que ceux généralement avancés.
Abstract :
Once considered to be on the verge of extinction, small-scale farming is regaining legitimacy through its contribution to the supply of fresh food via proximity relations. This note attempts to revisit conceptual and theoretical approaches by positioning the small farm in itshistory and context. New and recent typological studies show the great diversity of this social form in the European countryside. The attention paid to the social realities of the coming back of small-scale farming in Central and Eastern Europe, by decentring the gaze, enables to introduce other elements of analysis than those generally put forward.
